Goodbye Maiyo

Maiyo came with us to Texas when he was just a few months old. Together, he and I completed Puppy Kindergarten and a few other levels of Basic Obedience Training. We even performed at nursing homes with the Fun-Tier Kennel Club's Drill Team. His trick was to go get a newpaper out of a mailbox and bring it back to me. It was a hoot!

He also happily accepted 4 new (little) family members without hesitation or jealousy. As long as someone played ball with him once in a while, he was a happy dog.

Unfortunately, he bit a little boy last night that was coming over to play. He needed 4 stitches in his upper lip. Maiyo was laying on the rug by the side door where the little boy was trying to come in, with the help of Tille. It all happened so fast and I'm not even sure if the "why" of the situation would make it any easier. But ever since our experience with Tobie and him biting so many people, we vowed to never live with that fear again. We simply have too many kids coming and going to constantly be in fear.

We love him so much and he was a great pet. We miss him already. Even with 4 kids, the house seems just a little empty today.

So sorry to hear this, I know it must be really hard after what you went through with Toby. You are in my thoughts.

aww, that's really sad...it's hard to picture after Erica was poking his eyes and nose to point out his body parts all those years ago! I dont tend to be much of a dog person, but I remember Maiyo being particularly friendly and fun! I'm sure you'll all miss him a ton. Sorry to hear it.
