Today was Saturday, the day after Christmas, the day when you hit the stores for returns, exchanges and big sales. I had just a few things to do and Madison was my shopping buddy. I also convinced her to get a haircut. I know it had been over a year since she'd had anyone touch it (and I vaguely recall some crying the last time I tried to convince her to cut it). Anyway, the point of all that was that I texted Mark from the hair place to see how it was going with the kids on the boat (fishing, crazy, I know). He was taking Marley too and I was wondering how it went.
Well, no one will forget Marley's first fishing trip!
She either fell or purposely went off the front of the boat (it's a pontoon) and went into the lake. Mason, seeing this, pretty much panicked. He looked at Mark, looked at the lake and jumped in! Fully clothed - into water that is all of 50-something degrees.
Mark was like "What the hell, Mas!" At first, he didn't see the puppy (certainly distracted by his 9-year-old in the lake), but then he saw her just floating and casually paddling around - apparently quite a good swimmer is she. Go figure!
Mason, however, as he later reported, was afraid she was drowning and went right on in after his dog. Sorry, Mark didn't get any pictures of that!

Awww! Well how cute is that! Mason is just a natural born hero! You better believe that IF that dog had been drowning, by God, Mason wouldve saved it!!
